The KNGMG
The society has the following objectives:

It represents the interests of Dutch earth scientists.

It provides opportunities to gain professional knowledge and meet professional peers.

It provides networking oppurtunities.

It conveys that earth sciences are important to society.

It contributes to the professionalization of the earth sciences profession.

These objectives are fulfilled by:
Organizing symposia, lectures, excursions and networking activities.
Collaborate with earth science student associations and contribute (financially) to the organization of earth science activities for students and earth scientists.
Publishing the Geo.brief, a full colour magazine which is published 8 times a year, in collaboration with NWO.
Pulbishing the Netherlands Journal of Geosciences (NJG), a renowned international peer-reviewed scientific journal, in collaboration with TNO.
Awarding honors and prizes for recognizing meritorious earth science work in the Netherlands.
