Honorary membership may be awarded to individuals who have dedicated themselves to the Society in a remarkable way.

According to the KNGMG Rules of Honorary Certificates and Awards, honorary membership is granted regardless of nationality, age or gender. A close relationship with the Society is important, whereby personal achievements are more important than duration of the activities. Honorary membership is granted for life. Any KNGMG member may submit a proposal for granting honorary membership directly to the KNGMG Board. The decision to grant it is taken by the main board, having heard the Society Council.
