Are you a young earth scientist interested in a unique opportunity to move your career forward? Are you an experienced geoscientist willing to share your knowledge and lend a hand to the new generation?
The European Federation of Geologists (EFG) invites you to participate in the second edition of its International Mentoring Programme. This programme aims at building an informal network of geoscientists that will link up experienced geoscientists with the new generation of earth scientists.
Post-Bachelors students and young professionals with less than 4 years of professional experience are invited to submit their applications to participate in this initiative. EFG also welcomes the applications of European Geologist title holders who want to share their knowledge and experience as mentors.
Over a fixed period of 9 months, the mentees will receive targeted support from the mentors they have been matched with based on their career plans. This personalised guidance will depend on the mentees’ individual goals. Examples of the support provided by the mentors include:

  • feedback and support during the job application process;
  • building up a network,
  • development of a career strategy;
  • introduction to informal knowledge and business networks;
  • shadowing (participation in the professional life of the mentor).
