PGK Excursie Marokko
Petroleum Geology of rifted continental margins High Atlas, Morocco
The barren landscape of the western High Atlas mountain belt offers a unique exposure of Carboniferous, Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous outcrops that will be accessed during the trip. The inversion associated with the opening of the Central Atlantic makes it possible to observe Paleo- and Mesozoic units directly at the surface.
The trip will cover sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural and petroleum geology through the Carboniferous, Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous siliciclastics and carbonates, which are great targets for hydrocarbon exploration. Along the way from Marrakech to Agadir and Essaouira we will cover the regional source-to-sink system.
Price: € 499 (shared room) and € 654 (single room). The flights are NOT included in the price.
